PJWC Generates Funds For Several Local Causes

ORANGE -- The Pioneer Junior Women's Club recently held its second annual Walk for Weeze. The walk is for the benefit of the research and treatment of kidney disease and promotion of kidney donation. The Kidney Foundation will receive a donation of $850 in memory of Louise Johnson who died from complications of a kidney transplant two years ago.

The club's cause for the Veteran's Monument has received a boost from Pete's Tire Barns, Inc. $2,000; Seaman Paper Company, Inc. $1,000; Quabbin, Inc. $1,000; and from the Rogers Family in memory of Leon S. Rogers, US Navy (World War II) $100.

The Mahar Regional High School baseball team received a donation from the club of $800 to go towards the new scoreboard to be erected on the baseball field this coming spring.

In conjunction with their Thanksgiving dinners for the area shut-ins, the club members with the assistance of the North Orange Grange, will be making apple pies.

Club members have been busy readying for Santa's room for the Orange Santa Fund, which will be kicked off the Friday after Thanksgiving. The toys will be delivered with the help of the Orange Fire Department on Sunday, Dec. 20. Rcee's Pub is holding a turkey raffle on Saturday, Nov. 21 in which the benefits will benefit the Santa Fund Drive.




PETE’S DONATES — Pete’s Tire Barns recently donated $2,000 to the Pioneer Junior Women’s Club towards the Orange Veterans Honor Roll. The funds are being raised to replace the wooden honor roll that stood for many years outside Wheeler Memorial Library. Donations may be sent to the the PJWC, P.O. Quabbin Inc recently donated $1,000 to the Pioneer Junior Woman’s Club towards the Orange Veterans Honor Roll. HELPING SANTA

K-9 Matte has been very busy helping Santa and has delivered the Christmas Wish List for the Pioneer Junior Women's Club.  Santa rewarded Matte with his very own Christmas stocking which he hopes will be filled will all sorts of goodies.  Matte insists he has been very good this year.
